One of the very best things about having my own firm is getting to choose the associates We want work with. The associates We’ve selected are professionals and friends that We’ve known and worked with for over 20 years. Each associate— Heidi , Ken , and Kathleen —has their own unique style and way of getting things done; each has been incredibly successful in their career.
Seth Godin calls these associates Linchpins . These people “invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.”
So why did We choose these people to be Associates? We look for four attributes:
- Trustworthy: the integrity to do what is right for the customer, no matter what.
- Smart: a proven expert in their craft: Kathleen’s coaching prowess, Heidi’s instructional design and writing ability, and Ken’s drive and creativity as a sales executive.
- Dependable: each has and will deliver on every commitment that they make on every project—on time, within budget and exceeding expectations.
- Fun: by fun we don’t mean lots of laughs, although that can happen. What we mean is enjoyable to work with. Each takes immense pleasure from their work.
